The Three Rivers

Pittsburgh is surrounded by three rivers that all meet at "The Point". The Ohio, Allegheny, and Monongahela Rivers come and go from three different parts of the country, making Pittsburgh an ideal location for transporting goods to and from the city. The Carnegie Steel Company could easily bring supplies into the city and send out their projects to wherever they needed to go via barges and other forms of transportation, creating an easy route to success.
